Edward P. Schlesier will be the La Jolla Bar Association’s May speaker, presenting “IRA Planning After the SECURE ACT“ via Zoom.
The SECURE ACT (the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act of 2019), triggered significant changes to laws governing Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and other retirement plans (e.g., 401(k) plans), which changes impact many aspects of retirement, tax, estate planning. Ed will discuss these changes, including topics such as: retirement account contribution age limits; Qualified Charitable Distributions – including QCDs limitations and constraints; changes to age limits for taking required minimum distributions from an IRA, and how this can differ from required distributions from ERISA plans.
